STEAM Studio: Minecraft Virtual World Designer Workshop
As a special sneak peek of our STEAM Studio workshops being launched next month, we're offering this exciting hands-on, four-part workshop during STEM Fest. The workshop takes place online. Instruction will include a combination of live online interactions with NIU faculty and staff, along with recorded videos and downloadable step-by-step instruction.
Join us for this four-session STEAM Studio Fall Preview! This fun online workshop helps students develop skills in coding, problem solving, graphic design and teamwork.
We’ll use the Minecraft Education Edition, which is available on Windows, MAC, iPad and Chromebook. Your login will be provided on the first day and will work for the duration of the course.
- Build 3D worlds in a community server.
- Learn the basics of coding logic.
- Code the Minecraft Agent to build, dance, and more.

Location: This is an online workshop delivered by Northern Illinois University, Digital Convergence Lab. To access this camp you will need a stable internet connection and a computer that meets the computer hardware and software requirements. Students will receive a login to an online webinar tool and the learning management system before the start of workshop.
